Fungible / Non-fungible

Fungible items are interchangeable — any one unit is as good as another, like identical dollar bills or grains of the same currency; non-fungible items are unique and not interchangeable, like an original painting or a specific collectible. This distinction separates ordinary cryptocurrencies from NFTs.
