BLS signature
A type of digital signature, named for the cryptographers Boneh, Lynn, and Shacham, whose distinctive property is that many separate signatures can be mathematically combined into a single compact signature that remains easy to verify. This makes it valuable for blockchains, where thousands of validators must sign off on each block efficiently (see Digital signature, Threshold signature).
